Expo 2008 is the culminating unit for the Grade 8 class. Students work collaboratively to research an assigned country. The Enduring Understandings for this unit are:
Change – Students will understand that change includes environmental, political, social, religious and economic transformations
Interdependence – Students will understand that decisions or actions can have an impact on other people or nations
Identity – Students will understand how people define themselves and their place in the world as well as how they are defined by others
There are many EXPO connections across the curriculum. The diagram below illustrates the linkages and explains the key topics that will be discussed for each subject. Some responsibilities will fall to the group and some will be subject specific. Feel free to approach any of your Grade 8 teachers for clarification of any of the components.
